(Austin, TX) – Representative-Elect Katrina Pierson is excited to announce that she has chosen the team that will support her during her upcoming term representing House District 33.

For Chief of Staff, Pierson has selected Karin Griffin. Griffin has held numerous senior positions inside the Texas Legislature and on political campaigns. Before most recently joining her husband at their public affairs firm, she built a thriving newsroom of nearly thirty full-time reporters and editors from the ground up.

Karin has worked alongside everyone from elected officials to candidates, business magnates, and the grassroots. Her unique professional experience has provided her with the insight necessary to be a sound adviser for executives and anyone operating in highly-visible, high-stake environments.

Sam Johnson was selected to serve as Legislative Director.

Johnson is a fifth-generation Texan with a depth of experience working in and around the Texas Legislature.  Starting as a messenger with the Texas House, Sam went on to work in the House Appropriations Committee, House Republican Caucus, Texas Public Policy Foundation, and most recently as a Policy Analyst in the Texas Senate.

After pivoting to the private sector for a brief stint, Sam’s passion for good policy and public service led him to return to the Legislature and find his place as the Legislative Director for Rep – Elect Pierson.

For Communications Director, Pierson has chosen Philip Reichert.

Reichert, a veteran of Army and Space Force intelligence and former Fox News producer, joins Pierson’s team as Communications Director. Based in Austin, Philip has extensive experience in political commentary, with bylines in outlets like Newsweek and The Federalist, and served on the City of Austin Commission on Veterans Affairs. A committed advocate for Texas and the South, he brings a strong background in grassroots operations and communications.

“I am so proud of the staff we have assembled to work with me in the Capitol,” said Rep – Elect Pierson. “I could not be more confident that they will help me as I work to pass legislation that reflects the will of my district and re-instills trust in our government.”
